coming home

After spending two weeks in the states I am now back home in Haiti were the weather is warm and the bugs they do swarm!! Aside from being sick most of the time I had a great time and ate lots of good food which I can only dream about here- things like fresh sushi, spring rolls with peanut sauce, greek olives with feta, slices of soft roast beef, endless cheese, smooth yogurt, cold milk... as far as I know these things do not exisist here. Currently we cannot get across the Dominican border where we get our milk and good eggs so we are using powdered milk and half rotten eggs which we buy locally. So much for food-

I am amazed how much I felt like company in the states and how much it feels like I'm home now that I'm back. The children gave me a hearty welcome!! Veronika stared and stared at me and the first evening she screamed and hollered and pitched royal fits but by now she is settled back in and is absolutely the best, cutest, sweetest, baby ever.

My First Post

I am very excited and pleased to finally have a blog again!! I love to write and have often wished to have a blog set up to have a place to doodle and scribble- blow off and share joys. Many people have asked for a place where they can follow up to date progress with Veronika. Although this blog is dedicated to Veronika I will be writing about all the kids and other things as the mood strikes!! Enjoy!
